Gritty electric drones combined with impressionist piano lines, sort of a meeting between Erik Satie and a chainsaw on a dissecting-table – or the meeting of sunlight breaking through a cloudy sky with reflections playing on a grey sea.

This is ambient music that does not send its listeners in a somnolent haze, but that keeps up enough sonic dirt and tension underneath the beautifully melancholic surface to make listening exciting at all points. Or is it rather the grisly drones that form the surface, with the piano flahes breaking through it? While listening, foreground and background constantly shift and switch positions in the listener's mind – and this whole sonic kaleidoscope comes in an unusual, beautiful cardboard case.
